We finally got a new computer, and I've tried to get all of the things working, but I can't manage the sound card. I'm by no means an expert, or even knowledgeable of what I'm doing. Three things won't work in the Device Manager: Multimedia Audio Controller, RAID Controller, and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Any help is appreciated.

Did you install windows yourself or did the computer come with everything pre-installed?

If you installed windows yourself, my tip would be to go through the installation again, and IIRC, you need a floppy with the appropriate drivers to get the raid controller working, mine came with my motherboard (which has a built-in raid controller) and yours probably came with your raid-controller. Either find it or make a floppy with the appropriate drivers.

As for the video controllers and sound card, keep trying and see if your computer recognizes them. Try to play the MP3 that comes with WinXP. If it doesn't work, then install the appropriate drivers for your sound card. Install the drivers for the video card as well, if you have one.

[IMG] Good for you, and congrats on 1200.

What ended up being the problem?
