    I also thought Forrest Gump was a good film. Shirt lifter time, but that is one of very few films that had me near to tears. Not many do that!

    Two really bad films were Scar Face with Al Pacino, and Spaceballs, Mel Brook's absolute worst movie.

    If you liked the movie, Barmy, then check out the book. The movie skips most of the interesting stuff (and doesn't have the stupid ending).

    Bad Taste Trailer
    Bad Taste is the first 'major release' of Peter Jackson and was actually quite a success IIRC. It is old, yes.
    The movie is so bad, that it is actually good, or at least a good laugh.
    Too bad, they left the silliest parts of the movie out of the trailer.

    Big disappoinment was an other oldie from 1968, called "2001: a Space Odyssey"
    The movie was so slow. I have been looking for 20 minutes at a screen with changing colors which were solar systems etc. Or 3 minutes watching how an astronaut slowly floats in outerspace to his base. It took all too long.
    I'm glad I saw that one, though. Still a classic.

    The truely bad movies are those that made no impression to me at all, and neeless to say, I forgot them.

    Edit:
    I still want to go to "Nacht van de Wansmaak" (free translation: Night of the Distaste). It's a compilation of the worst moviescenes of the worst movies ever. Mostly horror, SF, KongFu.

    Wow! Another one. I never watched Scarface, but Khaavern will probably the only person ever to call it a bad movie.

    Scarface...
    It's... entertainment, yes. And pastime. I don't say it's a bad movie. But what is so good about it? The plot? The story? A surprising end?
    Scarface didn't leave an impression on me. All I remember is that one bigmouth rises to be the biggest crook and dies. I felt neither love, hatred, compassion, anger or sympathy with any character while watching the movie.

    That's an excellent point. On that note, Van Helsing is getting bumped from the top 5. Despite how ridiculously overdone it was, I did enjoy it - and Kate Beckinsale did look unbelievable hot in that one. Sword-wielding chicks with push-up bras, and all that. :D

    #4 on the list shall be Superman Returns.
    Heh - I don't remember that, I guess. I turned it off when he removed the bomb from under the car by doing the Evel Knevel flip jump to the crain - which was probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a movie. :rolleyes:

    Really liked the first Transporter, though. Besides, I was Death Rabbit long before that turd of a sequel came out. It's funny you said that, because most people think I got the nick from the vampire rabbit in Monty Python & the Holy Grail. :lol:

    I know your knick came long before Transporter 2 - I remember being in the theatre watching Transporter 2 and thinking of you when I saw the tattoo. I guess that it is an indication of the quality of the film that a character having a tattoo similar to a SP nickname was one of the highlights of the film for me.

    As far as Superman Returns goes - try watching the first Donner/Christopher Reeves Superman film. Compared to that piece of garbage Superman Returns looks Oscar worthy.

    I've thought about that - but our eyes are biased by the film trends and special-effects standards of today. I agree with the sentiment, because a few days before I saw 'Returns' I watched both Superman I & II with my brother and said the same thing. He told me that they may seem cheesy now, but when it first came out, Superman I was da sh*t. I was too young to remember how it was received in theaters - I only say it on cable growing up.

    Visually, Superman Returns was excellent - I'll gladly give it that. Story and acting-wise, it was an inconsistent, plot-hole-ridden piece of crap.

    When I watched Superman 1 recently I thought that the special effects were still reasonable looking but it was the horrible plot (and plot holes), terrible acting and even worse dialogue that made me cringe.

    Lois Lane's poetic chant while Superman was flying her around just about made me want to vomit.

    Luthor's deductions about Krypton and Kryptonite were such that he ought to be picking lottery numbers to make his money instead of pulling real estate swindles.

    Oh and I would dearly love anyone to give me a good explaination of how exactly Superman's B/S fly around the world to reverse time managed to save Lois' life when he never actually did anything to change her fate.

    I've always wondered why time would reverse instead of there simply being mass catastrophes if someone/something were to physically reverse the spinning of the Earth.

    All those are good points, JSBB, to which I agree completely - but to me, the logical sins of the first Superman are far more forgivable than those of Superman Returns. Back then the formula for blockbusters was "fantastic = good; who cares if it's plausible...it's a movie!" They didn't know any better (specifically when it comes to superhero movies).

    Today's audience is far more sophisticated (or so I'd like to think), and so are the filmmakers. Brian Singer should know better.

    This is hard, I spent about 4 years going to the cinema every thursday for the premiere, I had my uncle working in the cinema which granted me free pass ;)
    Well, let's start with...
    - Catwoman
    - J Lo movies that I was forced to watch...
    - Sky High
    - Batman begins
    - Superman returns
    - Police Academy (I don't know the right name in English but those movies with a bunch of wannabies cops like Tackelberry etc)
    - Too late for me to keep thinking...

    It was an abysmal, grade C movie, IMO, as well. Just about anything with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan together is horrid also, except maybe "Joe Versus the Volcano."
