Why is this game so hard?

Thanks Dorian. I will check out Pool of Radiance!

Yeah this damn Programs(x86) thing is the most annoying thing Windows ever did. I don't even imagine it helps with security like it is supposed to.

I am not getting the Co8 mod to install either, and I'm not sure if that is because ToEE is installed in the Programs(x86) folder or maybe because I stopped my Java update scheduler from running in my Task Manager (wife's computer and she's got a ton of stuff that likes to run in the background and seems to clog things up; I just turn off everything that I know I can turn off when I game on it).

Currently re-downloading the Anthology pack from Gamersgate to see if there is a way to get the games to install to the root C drive. I do seem to recall with past installations that I have been successful at doing this.

You have to install the Co8 mod as administrator and also run the ToEE Front End X as administrator.

    That didn't work.

However, I did manage to get ToEEFX installed, and with the simple options reset (humble NPCs, party max of 7 PC + 1 NPC, etc.) I effectively have what I mainly wanted from Co8.

Maybe I'll eventually hear back from Gamersgate about why their app doesn't allow the anthology pack to be installed outside programs folder.

Or alternatively maybe I'll figure out what is weird on my wife's laptop that is causing these problems.

You should be aware that there is at least 1 situation in ToEE in which NPC´s will join you *only* if there is more than 1 slot free in your party and your party is not too large.
