    A. I always thought, that the greates Englishmen of the 20th century was Lawrence of Arabia ? Hm, proclaimed by Churchill.

The "butcher of Gallipoli" had one big talent, and that being a great communicator and orator.

And his most famous for wearing a crown, which is not his:

Without Chamberlain's plan to rearm and create a RAF, which would be able to fight off Germany, Churchill wouldn't have been able to hold his famous speech. And wearing Chamberlains RAF crown. Without Chamberlain's work, there would not exist any UK.

Obviously, there's a lot more, which I just can't stand about Churchill. Especially as being most notorious for his opposition of Indian-Home-rule and being friend of the "divide-and-rule" politics, which on one hand secured the Raj for a few more years, on the other hand widened the gap between the Indians and was one of the main factors, which led to the bloody civil-wars, which followed independence.

As a memeber of a nation that mainly dealed with defensive wars and having most of our neighbouring nations posing demands on our country i do still think that war is an uncivilised act since it is based on one thing only greed (which sums up all the possibly given reasons for a war).
Every dispute could be resolved through discussion IMHO and the only reason that does not allow this to happen is greed of one nations goverment over anothers resources. There was not a war in history that did happen for a trully idealistic reason.
Ideals and noble causes are just the excuse for the masses in order to delude them and provoke them to fight harder and with more zeal, nothing more nothing less. :(
The only war i understand and accept is the defensive ones and only them.
As for Chorchill all i can say is that if it were not the simple British pilots and people in generall who shed blood and died for their freedom and not the glory of GB he could be the number 1 prisoner in a german prison.
They are the real heroes the simple people of every nation that give their blood and lives for a lie that is said by our leaders as they stay well protected in their top technology shelters and see the battle in a wide screen with red and blue dots representing the armies. No blood they are too delicate and we would not want to shock them

And when people no longer want discussion, it is no longer an option for the leaders, some people find it better to help the crowd through their own stupidity instead of opposing them..

Are you really surprised that Europeans (a lot of them) thought of themselves as the "master-race" as you call it? Europe ruled the world in one way or another (Rome anybody)since the dawn of time! NASDAP was not an accident, NASDAP was destined to happen. The thing that should worry us is the fact that Deutschland almost won the war.

In russia they have the expression they call god's tears. And this is what god's tears are: after Hitler encirclement of Leningrad, and the Wehrmachts unchecked drive thru the Soviet union, Hitler decided he wanted Moscow. The german army was less than 60 miles away from Moscow, driving across fields because the roads were too thin to allow fast passage for 69 tank divisions. But then...it started to rain. The fields turned to seas of mud, and the Wehrmachts approach was slowed. Winter soon came. And the rest you know. That was the turning point in the war. If that rain hadn't started falling----I'd be speaking german now!

And would that be a punishment ? :D

And it's NSDAP, not NASDAP. If you're gonna rant, then at least get your act together.

And your point is, Malaqi? That europeans are forced to become insane megalomanics?

Hitler would have lost anyway. Napoleon took moscow. And what good did it do him?
The axis forces were strechted to thin. Every serious counter-offense would have broken a huge whole in them.
As for the rain: that was exactly what the russians wanted and what they did with the french, too.

No the most worrying fact about the NSDAP was that it came from the homeland of the rule-of-law, the land of Goethe and Kant.

And about Europeans ruling the world. Only a short time period. Since India and China have understood how to handle machine-guns and fighter-planes, European man-o-wars don't rule the world anymore. Before that it was Ghengis Khan, tomorrow it will be China. Let's just hope that the Indians and Chinese will not fall for the same master-race bull****.
