Jase is the small boy near the destroyed caravan in the area immediately north of Beregost. When you speak to him, using any or all dialogue options, he gives you a smart reply, walks away, and disappears.

I've been assuming for some time that he was part of some quest that I just haven't managed to figure out(since he's a named character), but whatever party I approach him with gets the same zero, and now I'm wondering if he isn't more like the messengers who say "Gotta go!", walk off, and disappear. A BoM search for "Jase" turned up nothing. Does anyone know anything about this kid? Is he just a tantalizing annoyance?

As far as I know he's pretty much just some of the scenery of the game. Part of what makes it so great is that not everything in it is important; this helps creates the world that we all love.
