I just finished "The Demon Awakens" from Salvatore, book 1 from the first DemonWars Series. I will start book 2 tonight since I bought the whole first series second hand for $12. So far I like the story and character development. I fear, however, that Elbryan Windon is becoming to similar to Drizzt. He already is a wise fighting machine at the end of book one.

Yes, it would seem that Bob S. has an unhealthy fascination with rangers...

[IMG] I'm reading "Master and Commander" by Patrick O'Brian. I really liked the movie, so I wanted to give the book series a try. This book is a really tough read! O'Brian writes as if he's a 17th century writer and uses the language of the time. Between the period vernacular and the naval terminology, I spend as much time looking up words than I do actually reading the story!

But it is interesting, so I'm going to stick with it.

Unfinished Tales, by J.R.R. Tolkien and Cristopher Tolkien(editor).

I decided to go deep into Middle Earth, having read the Silmarillion, the Hobbit and LotR.

    [IMG] Currently reading
"The Road and the Hills" -
Book 1 of the series "A Walk in the Dark"
    - By Alison Spedding

A relatively unknown author she is still a excellent writer.
Very Hard to find being constantly confused with David Eddings.
The other books in the series are
    Book 2 - "A Cloud Over Water"
Book 3 - "The Streets of the City"

    My Author Recommendations:
Jean M. Auel- Earth's Children series
Stephen Donaldson- The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever
    David Eddings - All series
    Michael Moorcock- All series

Dragons Of A Lost Star, first book in the latest Dragonlance trilogy. Not bad but it's kind of annoying that they've brought [snip].

Second book of 'a tale of the malazan book of the fallen' called deadhouse gates.

Interesting read so far, although I'm not really into the gods walking the earth and stuff.

Apeman, I have read the first four books of "A tale of Malazan". They are different, hard to grasp, I dont know why really but I really really liked them all. Took a long time to get into and the scope is extremely vast. It is so nice to read fantasy that doesnt really fit into any given mold.

I'm reading a book I've had for over 10 years and never read. It's called Nor Crystal Tears. I'm glad I decided to pick it up.

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.

A masterpiece, deserving its label as one of the greatest books of all time.
