Just finished another Pratchett 'Wyrd sisters' which come in second place after 'Mort' in my favourite Discworld novel.

Am now doubting between another pratchett or a reread of 'A clash of Kings' by Martin.

I'm starting Abarat tonight. I just finished "My brother, My executioner" in one sitting, for school. God, I hate novels set in the Philippines, they're always so fcuking depressing..

If you are going to read "The cat who walks through walls", be sure to read "The moon is a harsh mistress" FIRST. You already read "Stranger in a strange land" so you are covered there. "The cat who walks through walls" ties together characters from the other books (but isn't really a sequel).

Morgoth, what an awesome book. I'm halfway through Assassin's Quest at the moment. This is one of the best trilogies I've read (so far - it could always become crap in the last few pages, you never know).

Currently reading: "The Oath and the Measure", volume 4 from 'The Meetings' Sextet in the Dragonlance saga. It isn't that great, as Sturm is not my favorite character from the saga (All of the kender and gnomes are, as well as Tanis), but I'm reading it so i can try and finish most of the saga. So far i've read 36 Dragonlance books (out of about 70, right?).

I recently finished a biography of Napoleon by a Swedish popular historian by the name of Herman Lindkvist. Lindkvist is more of a journalist than a historian and he tends to tell history in the most exciting way possible and with heavy biases, for good and bad.

I have just started "Perdito Street Station" by China Mieville which have got rave reviews from all over the place. I am looking forward to it.

As for the Farseer trilogy it do not turn into crap HB, the only drawback is that it might be a tad too bleak at times and you quite often want to strangle Fitz. I would recommend the Liveship traders as well, nto as good as Tawny man and Farseer but very worthwhile. Extremely heavy to plough through though, lots of gh's there, it manages to be bleaker than the Farseer trilogy and Hobb is even more sadistic towards her characters.

Started "The Wayfarer Redemption" by Sara Douglas, but stopped reading it; it's not all that good.

So now I'm reading through the entire run of the "Stormwatch" and "Authority" comics by Warren Ellis instead.

Well in the last 24 hours I finished Going Postal and read A Hat Full of Sky. Certainly not Pratchett's best work but they were decent. Next up looks like it will be Three of Swords by Fritz Leiber (a book club omnibus edition of the first three Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser books).

Ah, AMaster, I actually read the whole first book of the wayfarer redemption before I just dropped it. Thank god I had got the books in the library and not paid for them.

I just finished rereading the Chronicles of Narnia. They're meant for a younger age group, certainly, but I still enjoyed them. After hearing CS Lewis' name on every Tolkien biography I've watched, I had to read his works....

I just finished reading Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
Weird but funny. I love jokes about the army(air force in this case).
Now I'm wondering should I re-read my Star Wars collection :tie: ?
Or should I read the World War II books by Sven Hassel that I got?
Or just sit in front of the monitor and read the Cristal Shard?
    I'm a bit off a :book: aren't I?

Well, just finished WoT. Book 10 -- Crossroads of Twilight -- was quite a disappointment, to say the least -- virtually no action until the last 100 pages or so. The plot literally falls on its face and stalls out -- HUNDREDS of pages about Aes Sedai political meanderings -- I almost just put it down and said "forget it", but, instead, I kept reading with the hopes that the ending would be worth it -- it wasn't. The ending just stopped. What a let down....and after all those books.

But....looking at the series as a whole, I'll have to say it was a good read, well worth the time spent and I guess it's unfair to the author to expect all 10 books to be spectacular -- I was just looking for a bit more from this last one.

Ah, just finished "Assassin's Quest" by Robin Hobb to complete the Farseer Trilogy. Breathtaking stuff. It is a tight contest between that and Song fo Ice and Fire for best series I have read this year. I think the Farseer Trilogy wins because it is complete and has resolution whereas we Martin is still leaving us hanging.

Now I am reading "Homeland" by R. A. Salvatore.

You cannot say that you werent warned Spellbound. Path of Daggers and Winters heart were disapointments to me but the ending to Winters heart gave me hope and then I read Crossroads of twilight and was appalled.

Contrary to all rational I still have hope though, Jordan must pull this off.

Harbourboy, now you go on and read first the Liveship trilogy and then the Tawny Man trilogy.
