Elven Star - Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman

Second book of the Death Gate Cycle. It's pretty good, though the pop-culture references are a bit off-putting.

I love all books of Margaret and Tracy. They are really good. Its many books that is not in swedish that they have done. I have read the dragonlance, dragonlance Legends and Dragon Summer series.
Wich is the best besides them?

About to start "Disarming Iraq" by Hans Blix, my copy is actually a book written by a Swedish author in English translated into Swedish. Funky.

 

Just finished Anne Rice's Interview With a Vampire. Excellent book, even if my mind wandered sometimes and I missed parts of the plot.

Next, I'm onto Stephen Lawhead's The Iron Lance, which looks interesting. It's based on The Crusades, which should make for good reading and I hear from Falstaff that it is well worth reading.

After that, I'll be continuing to read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

 

I finished In Enemy Hands last night. It was typical of David Weber - i.e. a very entertaining read. The ending was one of those overused cliches that are really quite implausible if you think about it but Weber tells it in such a way that you can't help but .

I have started on Echoes of Honor (the next book in the series). I am only a hundred pages in but so far so good.

Interview was frickin awesome. The Vampire Lestat as well, but that's it. I tried reading some of the rest of the series but they all just come out as gay porn.

For me, I'm about to start Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. Had a HELL of a time acquiring it

 

'Cormyr a novel' by I can't remember now because I'm drunk...... maybe not drunk enough??

 

Haven't finished The Agony and the Ecstasy but I'm already starting The Last Legion. Great I'm reading two books at once, let's hope there won't be a thrid one.

 

I just started The Paths of Darkness by R.A. Salvatore, great book so far, loved all the ones with Drizzt!

 

"The Dark Tower: A Concordance Volume 1" by Robin Furth. basically a Who's Who of the Dark Tower, initailly written as a reference for Stephen to finish the series, never intended for release. Very interesting indeed though.

 

Read Neverwhere pretty damn quickly - quite addictive...

 

I finished Echoes of Honor last night and have started in on Ashes of Victory. So far it has been pretty much more of the same - but that is a good thing. Every time I pick up another one of David Weber's books I figure that sooner or later the quality will fall off but he is incredibly consistent in his writing.

Yeah, Neverwhere was awesome. Have you read Gaiman's other novels?

For me, I just finished Gstes of Fire by Steven Pressfield. Amazing book. I highly recommend it. Now, (for real this time ), I'm going to start Cloud of Sparrows. I didn't want to read something so heavy right after Gates of Fire but I can't find the "Tale of the Otori" trilogy that I just bought

Your post reminded me that I need to get the rest of the Otori trilogy (Nightingale Floor is the only one I've got).

But it'll have to wait because (after seeing everyone else post about him) I've started reading Pratchett.

 

Agreed. I read this book sometime ago and was very impressed; it was quite moving.

Recently however, I read The DaVinci Code, The Colour of Magic, and am now rereading Homeland for some crazy reason...

For The DaVinci Code - my major problem with it is that the characters and plot were entirely unecessary. The book would have got its point across better had it not bothered with them...

 

I've been ploughing (rather rapidly, actually) through the New Jedi Order books - just finished Star By Star last night - good stuff. Lots of fun. And lots of lightsabers
