Where should I put my new desert tileset?

    I just downloaded the desert tileset and I want to chance trying it because I don't have any really important mods to lose. I tried putting it in my hak directory but it's not showing up in my toolset. Did I put it in the wrong place? Thanks in advance for your imput.

    open module-select edit-select module properties-click advanced tab-select desert tiles from drop down menu-make new area
    there:)
