    Let's see

'Chunking Express' for the dialogue, acting and filming. (chinese)
'Seven Samurai' for the filming. (japanese)
    'American Beauty' for the story.
'Shaolin Soccer' for the sincerity of making a comedy serious. (chinese)
'Schindler's List' for shocking me with the hardship that people went through just to stay alive.

and the best of the best among the best is....
'Lifetimes' for the outstanding acting and touching story. (chinese)

I need to correct myself: Lipin I and II doesn't exist, that is just the name of the char. I watched the rest and The Castle of Cagliostro is still best.

And i will add one movie that i watched recently:
Battle Royal - better movie than Little Butcher if someone watched it!

Also, i didn't saw Green Mile in this topic.

And i didn't saw it, but i heard that there is "old" sequel to Planet of the Monkeys (not that new remake) and it is called Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Not in any order of which is better etc.

    Braveheart
    Postman
    LoTR: FoTR
    Matrix
    The Shadow
    Saving Private Ryan

Must be a dozen more, but I can't remember right now. Most really aren't *that* special anymore, but in their own time they've represented the best.

[IMG] Have to admit; Home Alone made me laught like crazy when I saw it for the first time, but humor, in movies, is one-use-stuff, no?

Oh thank goodness, someone FINALLY mentioned The Princess Bride! Others I love that haven't been mentioned yet include "The Adventures of Buckaroo Across the Eighth Dimension" and "Bull Durham." Those two will ALWAYS make me stop channel-surfing!

I LOVE the Princess Bride! One of my favourite movies is The Mummy (yeah, yeah, I know it's barely a B-grade movie, and historically inaccurate, but I happen to love Brendan Frasier. Who is also a B-grade actor and historically inaccurate. But he's soooo cute.) I love the MST3K movie--I know all the lines to it--and I cry at the end of Ever After and Mulan everytime I watch it. And Shrek's pretty cute. I guess I'm just a kid at heart.

There are a lot on amazing movies but some of my favorites are The Prophesy 1,2 and 3, the yellow submarine and The Big Blue, and The Professional.
Jean Reno is an amazing actor.

It pains me that very few people have mentioned it: Clockwork Orange. Truly a masterpiece in its own right. Beautifully acted and the directing is simply breath-taking. This is one of the few movies where the on-screen adaption surpasses the novel.

I say it again for all those people who like to see the names of movies without having to read posts:

    Clockwork Orange.
