Well, I'm currently having a complete overhaul of my musical tastes - which means my list is very short - and that I have very few CDs of these bands.
    But anyhow:
    Within Temptation
    After Forever
    Nightwish
    Evanescence
    Lacuna Coil
    Entwine

Then there are the bands that I have a vaguer liking for such as:
    Fuel (older stuff)
    A Perfect Circle
    Silverchair

And some mroe bands which I can't remember the name of currently.

A lot of the same stuff as Master of Nuhn but would add for Chill: Delirium, Groove Armada, Baby Mammoth, Massive Attack, The Essence and Moss.
Jazz: John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, besides Miles, Cannonball, etc.
Also some ambient stuff - Steve Roach, Vir Unis, Vidna Obmana and Patrick O'Hearn.

Why does black spooky Scandinavian goth metal rock whatever keep popping up in these posts?

Anyways, I think that At the Drive-in deserves a mark here. You don't get a lot of good creative rock bands from Texas, let alone El Paso.

Why does Evenessence keep showing up in this thread. I'm sorry I just hate her whiney voice.

I was going to make a list, but I'm to lazy and 90% of you probablly hadn't head of 90% of the bands. So I basically picked my top fav's in Strung Out and Led Zep.

Evanescence keeps showing up in this thread because people like 'her whiney voice'.

Come on, give us a list of your own. Then we can ask you similar stupid questions.

I mostly listen to classical music and opera. My favourites would be Wagner, Bizet and Bach but I am not overly picky.

Full out Electronic music for me:
    House, tech-house, funky-house, electro-house, new acid house.
Techno, the synthy/musical and percussive varieties. And of course Detroit Techno!
Breakbeat and Tribal variations of the above too.
    All types of Electronica.
I also love my more chilled out ambient variations of the above.

If anyone else likes electronic music, check out this site, it's awesome! Some of the example samples are bit outdated though...the scene is constantly evolving.

I avoid 50's music and duck and run for cover when I see country music on the horizon. Other than that I like a little bit of everything in my soup. Keeps the imagination going.
