Well, English is something I have to learn more but I can understand almost everything when watching a movie; Portugues, Guarany (Paraguay), Catalan (Catalunya, Spain) and of course Spanish.

I never expected to see so many multi-lingual folks, Maybe bi-lingual, but I guess I should have expected it as only the best and brightest are found at the BoM! :D

Turkish as my first language and English, of course. You can understand I'm not a native speaker of English, my English is not perfect. But my English and composition teacher said me I can study even philosophy (I'm an engineering student) at universities in England and I will be successful

no kidding? when were you in the Philippines Aik?

on a similar note, I know how to ask for one more beer and where the bathroom is in Spanish. I must get the accent and pronunciation right because after I ask, rapid directions in Spanish follow and I have to follow up with "no hablo Espanol" :D

Dutch/Flemish, English, German and French I can speak fluently. Spanish I can understand and I can make myself be understood in it. I had 6 years of Latin and 1.5 years of ancient Greek at school and thanks to a mix of all the above, I suppose I should be able to understand some Italian and Portuguese.

Well, considering we´re also counting 'a few phrases', five:
I'm fluent in Dutch (native) and English (duh!), and I know some German, French and Latin.
I intend to learn at least one more language, or polish my French or German to semi-fluent, over the course the next 3 years in uni

I can only swear in multiple languages.

That reminds me of something I heard a long time ago:

Q: What do call someone who knows three languages?
    A: Trilingual.

Q: What do call someone who knows two languages?
    A: Bilingual.

Q: What do call someone who only knows one language?
    A: American.

    Danish (duh!)
    English
German (rusty; could probably still have a simple conversation with a German)
French (very rusty - one of my first lines in any conversation would probably be, "Parlez-vous anglais ou danois?" :) )
Swedish and Norwegian (understand but do not really speak).

I also picked up a few (very few) Irish phrases back in '94 when I was living in Dublin for a few months.

I only speak Dutch, but the fact that I can answer this question already reveals that I'm not an American. I can understand some Italian, as you can see. :p

    Bullocks.
I Speak Dutch and some English. (Here comes some other blabla: ) I understand some other languages partially and I can utter some phrases. German and French have the best chances. Italian and Spanish are slow, but I can make myself understood if I have to or want to. That's a lie, I bet, I can ask where the postoffice is and that some should turn left at the first traffic-lights. But that won't help me in court.

Splatterings of German and French (About good enough for a tourist). French is close enough to be able to get an understanding of written and verbal Italian, Spanish and Belgiun, but I wouldn't be able to converse.

Belgian is an actual language? It's not even an actual country! :p It's a warning-zone shouting "Watch out! You're approaching France!"
    I thank Belgium for that.
