1, when did i say using quivering palm is exploiting a bug? I have read the special abilities of the classes.
2, the game isn't designed to be solo'd, although it does add that extra challenge to it.
3, by stand up and fight i don't mean stand there and hit it with swords, of course i use other ways to get the damn things down.
finally, 4, my party has enough intelligence to realise there is more to do than hit it with swords, thats why they aren't all fighters.
As for ungentlemanly, no it isn't to use these things in the game that are used against you often enough, hey they're there, use them.
And if you think, oh no, a dragon! it must be hard to kill, must use instant death tactics, good luck, i give them a miss thanks to sods law (in BG when i tried to use them).
And all i asked was this, does anyone else give the "using flesh to stone or any other insta-death tactic" a miss, as thats the only way ppl on the boards seem to be bragging about.
Oh and notice the ;) after i said the wuss way of killing them? IT'S MY WAY OF SAYING I'M JOKING THERE, Y'KNOW, TRYING TO have A LITTLE LAUGH?!

Actually, just whacking them with swords is my tactic, it has killed all the dragons i've met so far, firkragg, 3 hits with the silver sword. That one in sulandesselar, 4 hits with silver sword and a few with minscs equalizer. Silver dragon...i was playing thru the good way so i didnt kill it. Hells dragon, silver sword, and minsc dual wielding equalizer/blackrazor. Shadow dragon, havent done umar hills this time thru. So, i have conclusive proof that just whacking them with swords is a valid tactic.

Greater malison and then Finger of Death. The flawless dragon strategy.

Otherwise, use lots of wands of lightning. Bombarding them with archers also works.
