    However you have to ask if you will equip all of your army with so-said flexibility which will cost alot more than just giving your grunts one type of ranged and melee weapon. And if we remember Arcanum - magic and technology don't work together, so magic bullets either won't fire or'll break the gun :p .

    To your first point: Yes, and that would then bring up a whole new level of strategy and, no doubt, spawn endless debate on certain message boards which shall remain anonymous. :D

    As to the second point: I'll just point out that this isn't Arcanum. That said, I haven't read much about Eberron (doesn't really appeal to me), so I don't know if it'll work that way.

    Yeah I know it's not Arcanum but you can obviously see some type of conflict between 'Techies' and Mages being the focus point of this game :p

    Actually, on second thought, didn't they say when they announced it that magic would power technology in this world? If so, I can't wait for my Flaming Burst OICW +5 :D

    I'm really looking forward to this game. The idea of above ground and underground combat is really interesting. It being a RTS on top but then a group based dungeon crawl when you go below should be really interesting.

    I don't play the PnP game but I did get the Eberron Campagin Manual cause I really wanted to read up and maybe do some fan fiction and I have to things seem really interesting. Magic being able to to power technology should make things interesting. I really hope the publisher doesn't force the game out without being ready. But most importantly I hope the developers will try to reach the level of quality that games like Warcraft 3, Dawn of War, Homeworld 2, Rise of Nations, etc and other RTS have shown can be done and go above that.

    Uh guys...there's no guns in Eberron, seriously. It's not that kind of setting.

    Here's an example for you...as near as I've managed to figure out, the "standard" units for the Order of the Silver Flame include:

    1. Human Ranger (Archer)
    2. Human Paladin (Knight)
    3. Human Cleric
    4. Human Artificer (Uniquely Eberron class)
    5. Warforged Titan (Eberron Race)
    6. Dwarven Barbarian
    7. Dwarf Wizard
    8. Elf Sorcerer
    9. Elf Rogue
    10. Celestial

    Very much not a "Dwarf with Machine guns" setting. The other races, incidently, are evil "Shadow Elves" and Lizardmen.

    IMO Eberron looks to other-worldly for me. It's going to take alot to convince me to buy any game or whatever set in Eberron. Although I would love to play a RTS D&D game, I just wish it was set in good ol' FR, or even Dragonlance or Greyhawk for that matter.

    Who ever said magic and technology cannot cooperate? Haven't you played FF VI? MAGITEK, HO!!!!! Seriously, though, the idea of magical sciences and holy lazer beams on your dragon-rib airship appeals to me. I doubt they'll have quite that, but I can still hope.
