Reading the words that Christ spoke and realizing that He really understands what life is like, what we go through. Then reading His word and understanding that my sins can be forgiven. That gives me more hope than anything in the world.

 

The replies on this thread make me feel like my work here is not for naught!

 

What gives me hope?

well, atm very little. When you have a dream where all your worst fears come true then you begin to wonder.

Things that give me hope.
My mother, knowing she would tell me the truth.

er...

knowing one day I will complete everything I've set myself. That I'll one day complete my worlds and races and animals.

I don't have much to hope for, but my life isn't hopeless, and neither am I.

 

Getting laid.

At the moment though its my fiance, i got engaged last saturday...yay

 

Congratulations! Well, there you go...people still believing that marriage is important. That gives me hope for sure.

In a simple answer, me.

Never trust in one person too much. You will get dissappointed. There is no one that you can place your hope in but yourself.

Hope in a better future might be nice, but I doubt that i can happen.

At this moment in my life I am so close to hitting "rock bottom" that it is not funny. I spend a lot of time looking around for hope, and this is some of the things I have found, that provide it.

People who are kind, just because.

Strangers who make you smile, or laugh.

Nature (in so many ways)

True friends

Music

Old people who are still in love and it shows.

Watching someone do something they never thought they could, child, and adult alike.

Knowing that I have made a difference in at least one persons life.

Knowing there are others out there who have, or are, experiencing the same things I am.

Knowing that I have been through a lot of tuff times, and they haven't killed me yet.

 

This was a good thread for me to read. I just recently lost my apartment and had to move back home. It was entirely my fault. Apparently, you can't smoke pot all day and then get drunk at night and still expect to survive. So after some lonely late night crying, I decided to call my sponsor for the first time in three and a half years. The fact that he is still clean and sober and wants to hang out with me again gives me hope.
The fact that even though the rest of my life is a mess, I still managed to do OK with my classes gives me hope.

Plus, I volunteered at my college to do this thing called Springfest. It was my job to help with a rock climbing exhibit. I probably met about two hundred little kids that day. The fact that I met two hundred people with which neither I nor them in any way judged each other gave me a huge helping o' hope.

As for me...the circumstances change and vary...
For now, it is the hope that I will one day be able to cast aside my army fatigues and resume my status as a civilian...and the hope that I will one day get revenge on my enemies that keep me going.

I subsist on hate and madness, from which my hopes for the future are born.

 

Well the fact, that I am going to 18 in 5 years gives kinda hope.

And ROTK too.

And the fact that there are atleast 3 people, who would kinda miss me.

And that I can drive anyone crazy with my babbling about slash and Wolverine.

Because I can.
