KOTOR was the best of the four games. I like it a lot.

I voted KotOR, but I feel compelled to add (having seen the scores) that NWN2 is a very good game, provided you get the Mask of the Betrayer expansion set too and take the time to patch it straight away. That's what I did, and I've been really pleasantly surprised with how much I've enjoyed the game, considering the rather... lukewarm reception it received. It's much more complete than KotOR2, and the enhanced interface makes it feel much more like one of the old Infinity Engine games. Throw in the obligatory Obsidian/BI PS:T references, and you're away.

I like Kotor (although it is flawed, playing in the Star Wars universe is just too enjoyable) but I'd suggest playing NWN fan made modules before moving on (since you probably won't run NWN anytime soon).

That being said, have you played the Witcher? It's quite simply the aurora engine at its best. The game is a bit linear, the protagonist reminded me of an albino Steven Seagal but the game is just too much fun.

Kotor, no debate. ToEE is D&D and fun butt Kotor has that thing you want in a game. Follow it with kotor2, then NWN2 with Motb. When you have done that ToEE is a nice slow game between releases.

It just has something to wield a lightsaber.

I don't know. I've played "Kotor" and I found it very unenjoyable. I was a scoundrel or whatever the thieflike character is. It wasn't very fun. The guy who lent me the game told me that's not how you play and that I was playing it wrong. He took the game back because of it. I didn't like the controls either. They were too stiff.

    holy necro!

Somebody resurrects this thread so it's right on top just in time for my birthday when I'm looking to buy myself a new game with some of the money I received. What a coincidence.

Anyways, on a similar note, are the premium modules even still available? The link at the Bioware site the game points me to is broken.

Err, that is without purchasing Diamond Edition since I have platinum.

They haven't been available for some time now due to some Atari shenanigans again. BioWare was forced to take them down, whereas Atari is too incompetent to get them into their own online stores in under 2 years. Along those lines, anyway.

If it takes Atari as long to get the premium modules on their own store as it did for them to make MoW available, then yeah, 2 years sounds about right
