Yeah, it's nice to look good. But labels don't make you look good. They just tell you how much money you like to spend.

Some things like the pencils and chocolate were given to more than one person, like my schoolfriends got similar gifts and several people got money and photos. I can't remember all the stuff I gave people either

I am blessed with a big family

There is also a policy that we're not supposed to buy for the adults, as I'm eighteen now it's the last year people are allowed to buy me things, so I got a little extra

Also that family doubled in October when my mother married, so it's been a big drain on funds really, but everyone loves what they got so it was worth it.

I contributed cash towards a bunch of stuff that were presents jointly given by my parents, my brother and I - but my mother did all of the shopping for those gifts so I really don't know exactly what we gave people.

 

I gave the wife:

new power drill (yes, it's what she wanted), assorted other goodies.

I gave the girls: lots and lots of toys and clothes, DVD movies and computer games.

Hmmm...I edited my first post mow that I've received everything.

 

Got some decent clothes, obligatory chocolates, and a couple of high-denomination bills from a relative that KNOWS she can't pick out good gifts.

Gave love, assistance, happiness, and sundry little 'trinkets/keepsakes' that were meaningful to the recipient.

 

Oh yeah forgot, my g/f got me some cuban cigars ! Oh yeah! I am the happiest

Some people here have been VERY lucky this Christmas. There's some good stuff on those lists.

 

I didn't asked anybody to buy me presents. And as for my not giving anything, I work part time and I have an apartment to pay, and fortunately, I have a family with enough common sense to understand that.

 

That's right, DotW. And in the end, that's the real meaning of Christmas: having the support and understanding of those who care about you. All the rest of it is just what we do to satisfy our own egos....
