    Yes spears would be nice, especially ones that can be thrown.

    Yes! It would be very neat if someone could make some pilars or javalins... Javalins would of course have to stack as darts, and for a pilar to be worht the while, it would have to be magically enchanted so it returned to the wilders hand.

    Was there a lance at all in BG2? That is another classic weapon that I didn't see or didn't see too often.

    In order to have a lance, one must have a horse. You'd think, anyway. :heh:

    Hmmm... Would anyone might be up for the task of making a weapon pack containing some if not all of these items?
    I'm anyways tired of seeing that all weapon packs contain almost only greasily overpowered weaponry.
    Especially the mage armour idea would be great (if it's do-able that is).

    I agree with the thrown hammer -- the Hammer of Thunderbolts is a thrown hammer in PnP. It acts very much like Celestial Fury (with the additional benefit of killing giants with a single hit) -- a thrown hammer with a lightning strike would have been great. Keep Crom Faeyr the same, change the HoT to do the Celestial Fury thing when a girdle of giant strength and gauntlets of ogre power are equiped (as per the original hammer). Losing the lightning strike to gain the additional strength would have been a good sacrifice.

    The Item Upgrade mod has a bunch of throwing spears. Most of them are hideously overpowered, though.

    Djieff your right the Item Upgrade mod does have throwing spear but as with most mod the weapons tend to be over powered.

    Oh, it shouldn't be too hard for someone who has moderate skills in using NearInfinity or DLTCEP. The Indira NPC mod for Tutu, by the way, has an item quite like Abdel's neat suggestions for mage armor. :) I guess it couldn't hurt floating a suggestion at a modding community somewhere. Could it?

    I thought the engine for BG2 is quite flexible. Maybe the Mage Armor would have to be setup with some heavy restrictions to keep no Mages or Bards from using it.

    The restrictions on who can use it would be easy. (Heck, you can do that with Cromwell's Smithy.) The hard part would be the spell-level restrictions; the rest anyone could do.

    Why does a mage need to wear armor? That's what magic is for in the first place, and kind of defeats the purpose of using defensive spells. The mage AC with good items like AC3 bracers, along with a ring of protection +2 gives a superior armor class with defensive spells. Technically, a mage should never get hit with the right defensive spells. If they do, it's usually game over for them.
