    Hopefully. But it isn't like his team wasn't throwing the idea out there of firing generals until he could find 1 willing to violate the law and/or US Constitution.

    I don't think he can pardon himself, but he could find some excuse for JD Vance to take over temporarily, issue a pardon, then let Trump back.

    As far as I know, there's nothing that says that he can't pardon himself. I assume the ultimate decision would fall upon the Supreme Court, which is right-owned anyway. Someone with more legal expertise could probably chime in with more weight here. I do think that he can't make any state charges go away since his powers only extend to federal matters, but he doesn't really have to care about those anyway. Any charges that haven't yet reached a conviction will likely be swept under the rug now though.
