Wacky Script

    Lately, whenever I click on a thread here at BoM, I get this message from IE after some moments of apparent lockup:

    I can then click on yes or no, but it still hangs for a while. Then, usually, it will eventually go away, or I might get the box again. Today however it didn't go away and I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of IE.

    Any idea what's going on? This only happens after going to a thread (this morning it was the 'Animal Crulety' thread), not upon arriving at the main site or the BoM forums home page.

    Noteworthy: I juyst did some further browsing on the boards and got waylayed again by 'Animal Cruelty' but no other threads. I guess I wasn't paying too close attention when this was happening in days gone by, but it could be that only that thread has been problematic.

    It doesn't give any info on the location of the script? Usually you can click "More" or something along those lines and it shows the location that's problematic. I haven't changed anything on the forums in a long time so I've got no idea what it could be... is anyone else experiencing this?

    Yes, I occasionally get the same thing. I may be wrong, but is seems to be threads where you posted Tal. After I let the script run to completion, your sig displays. Could it be something in your sig?

    It hasn't happend much, and usually when the BoM is already slow, so again my perception of what's causing it may be completely off.

    Yeah, it's happening right now every time I open or refresh the animal cruelty thread. There's something in your sig below the join Sorcerer's Place facebook page that doesn't load before the window pops up and loads after I tell it to let the script continue to run.

    I tried other threads where you've posted and it doesn't happen, but the same delay in displaying that bottom part of your sig happens, so maybe it's how many times you've posted in the thread?

    It happens in the Duggar family one where you've posted a few times as well...

    Ah, I have an idea what's causing that... it must be the Facebook like counter; FB connect calls are slow as it is, and the more there are (one per post), the more they slow a page down. I've taken it out of my sig now - let me know if it makes a difference.
