Actually my initial impression of Sarah Palin was quite positive. She seemed like a breath of fresh air, she was against abortion (I lean that way), and she was a fiscal conservative who had opposed the "Bridge to Nowhere". Then the facts started emerging... :bad:

I think that, fifty years from now when historians analyse the election of '08, they will point to Sarah Palin as the big mistake that might have cost McCain the White House.

Even if McCain had chosen a better qualified VP candidate, I think Obama would still have won - but it would have been a lot closer.

The Palin pick certainly didn't help, but IMO McCain lost the election the day he said, "The fundamentals of the economy remained strong." as Lehman Brothers, AIG, and eventually Wall Street imploded.

I agree. But a thoughtful VP pick would have balanced that out. The Palin pick just demonstrated how unbelievably irresponsible the McCain people were. Just think: We were almost one heart attack away from having a President who didn't know that Africa was a continent.

    Baby jesus is crying.

Ah, now they tell us. If McCain had somehow won, I guess the joke would have been on us, right? Hahaha.

Did everyone catch this bit in Newsweek's ginormous election article?

September and early October. Hmm. What was happening then?

Oh, right the GOP was doing its best to wring Ayers for all he was worth.
