So who wants to see the PCB populated with parts?

Well first, how about a picture of the workstation I used for soldering? I did it all by hand, and since much of the soldering is on a submillimeter scale, I used the magnifying lamp the whole time.

For the vias (connection from one side of the board to the other) I used a very thin wire (wire wrap wire) through the via holes.

And here is the PCB fully populated with the parts all soldered in place.

    What size is the PCB?

I like the workstation. I've used some of those tools but I've only ever tried rudimentary soldering. Is the liquid on the bottom right corner of the blue mat a soldering compound or is it a glue?

    The PCB is 3x5 inches.

The tube on the far right of the anti-static mat is rosin soldering flux.

The pen-shaped thing in the pouch next to it is an interesting device for cleaning contacts. It contains dozens of tiny fiberglass filaments that act as a kind of sandpaper. The back end has a twistable part that advances the filaments out the front.

The blue-handled device is a wire-wrap tool that I used to strip the red kynar wire you see on the spool.

I think everything else is identifiable.

The left side of the mat that shows the spool of solder, the alcohol dispensing bottle and the anti-static wrist strap are in another picture I have, but since it also has the final form of the project in the picture, I'll show that later :) I don't want to spoil anything ;)
