    On the way up to my office this morning, the TV in the elevator (yes, apparently the 15 seconds you spend in the elevator is too long of a time period to go without a screen to look at) had a blurb that Rove was predicting a landslide in favor of Obama. I thought that was marginally interesting, but it set me to thinking about the past 8 years and, in a whimsical (perhaps) mood, I realized that Rove was the Emperor, Cheney was Darth Vader and Bush . . . well . . . it was kinda obvious -- Jar Jar Binks!

    That's pretty sad (but true).

    Just listened to the McCain concession speech. He seemed very calm, collected and gracious. A very nice exit from the man, too bad he was not more like this during the actual campaign.

    He was very gracious and classy. The speech seemed well rehearsed, as if he'd resigned himself to this days ago. I agree - if he'd run the rest of his campaign like that, who knows how much closer it would have been.

    I've been scanning the right wing blogs, and the responses so far seems to be "that's what happens when you run a RINO." Between that and the boos from McCain's audience, I'm starting to have my doubts about whether they'll learn the right lessons from this.

    But for now, I'm just going to take a deep breath and relax, finally. :)

    I liked Obama's speech (not that he ever gives a bad one). I choked up when he got to the part about what will our children see if they live until next century. I have a little one, and if Jack lives to be 93, he'll see the 22nd century.

    RINO? I suppose that's something to do with McCain's campaign, but what is it exactly?

    I admire your optimism, Marty. For the first term, though, I'd say 30-40 million, tops. I'll get back at you around 2012 as to how it worked out.
