Unseeing Eye quest problem

    Has anyone else had this problem? I'm in the temples district and I've just witnessed Gaal giving his speech. Someone from the temple of Helm comes over and says that the boss would like a word with me about the Cult of the Unseeing Eye. I follow him into the temple but the boss won't talk to my main character. He'll talk to any other party members and just say that he wants to speak to whoever's in charge. Now if I go into the sewers, the way to the Cult isn't opened. There's just a question mark instead.

    How do I get past this problem?

    Hmmm - strange. He's always talked to my characters. Are you sure you're talking to the right priest? He is at the top of some steps just as you walk in. What does it say when your character tries to talk to him?

    It's definitely the right NPC because I've spoken to him previous times I've played the game and never had this problem. His name's Oisig and all it says is "Oisig - has nothing to say to you". If any of my other characters speak to him he tells them he wants to speak to the leader of the group.

    Try to change the leading personality and then talk to the priest.

    Are you using a Win2k system? I had the "X is busy" bug too, you need the patch for it. It happens to the most inconvenient characters too. It sounds like that's your problem, but I think it might be something else. If he responds to others... Do you have any weird mods or anything? You might need to reinstall if so.

    I'm using XP. I had a similar problem with TOB when I couldn't get a single NPC to talk to me but once the patch was installed everything was fine.

    The only mods I've got installed are the expanded thief stronghold and one allowing characters to wear more than one magic ring.

    [​IMG] Try the other Churches - if you are a Cleric then you will have to go to the one that matches your alignment/kit

    Is your main character a Cleric?

    The Helm Temple is the default Temple for the quest, but if you have a good or evil Cleric you must go to one of the other two Temples.

    Neutral Clerics work for Helm too... ;)

    I have TOB installed but I thought it made more sense to post it here because I'm still in the SOA side of things (gets very confused. If I'd posted it in the TOB forum I'd probably be getting moaned at because it was in the wrong place.)

    My character is a fighter/mage of chaotic good alignment but I'm not sure what difference that makes to the Unseeing Eye quest. I played the game through before with a pure fighter and never had this trouble.

    I think I'll just have to use the cheat codes to move my party to the Cult location and just hope I get the reward from the temple of Helm afterwards.
