    1. No human being is born free or equal in dignity or rights. They are not endowed with reason nor conscience and they will act toward one another with malice, spite, anger and envy.

    2. Only a priviledged few are entitled to all kinds of rights and freedoms which they choose to have for themselves. People are discriminated by their race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinions, national or social origins, property, birth or other status. Distinctions are made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

    3. Only a few have the right to life, liberty and security of person. This right is bought with money and blood.

    4. People are held in slavery and servitude; slavery and the slave trade are going on in all their forms.

    5. People are subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and punishment. It might be done as a means to an end, but in the end it is the will of the strong imposed to the minds and the bodies of the weak. The results are of no consequence, this imposing of will is the prime reason.

    6. Everyone who is affluent and educated enough have the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law, unless special circumstances decree that the right to be a person before the law should be withheld.

    7. There is no equality before the law. Justice is bought and sold on the basis of the discrimination defined in section 2.

    8. Only a priviledged few have the right to an effective remedy by the national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted to them by the constitution or by law.

    9. People are and shall be subjected to arbitrary arrests, detentions and exile.

    10. There are no fair and public hearings. There are no independent and impartial tribunals. The determination of rights and obligations and any criminal charges are ruled in accordance to the discrimination defined in section 2.

    11. Only a priviledged few charged with a penal offence have the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.

    12. People shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, and to attacks upon their honour and reputation. Only a priviledged few can afford, or are able to get the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

Hmm, I can't tell if you're being cynical or realist, Iku -- the two are so hard to dissociate.

Yuh, started writing the opposite of Universal Declaration of Human rights...got a little creeped out how this negative version depicts reality more accurately.

There's plenty of examples on the arbitrariness and inequality of justice systems. Haven't done much research on the topic though, but one single tax case I do remember.

A kebap-restaurant owner was sued for evading taxes. Can't remember the details, though, but the funny thing was that there was this posh restaurant owner who was sued for the exact same charges. The thing was that as the guy running the kebap-pizzeria was deemed guilty, the posh restaurant owner wasn't. Why? Maybe she was not guilty. Who knows? But maybe it had something to do with the fact that the members of the court frequented in the posh restaurant as well...

Funny example that. Injustice pizza. It's a sick, sad, world :shake:
