Hmmm. I may have to do that to one of those idiots with the lightning bolt spells.

"Protection from Evil 10' Radius" is one of the best cleric spells. The effects aren't spectacular but you gain a big defensive combat boost for a long time.

Sunray is awesome, at high level I have killed Liches with it.

Holy Power + Righteous Magic = Deadly Preist.

Remove Paralysis has save several of my parties from being slaughtered by a Demon or other powerful foes that use hold spells.

Holy Smite is a handy, hard hiting spell.

Remove fear and Mental Domination are useful in regaining controll of party members.

I know that a +2 to AC doesn't seem like much but Defensive Harmony always helps me in a tough spot.

Doom on top of a Greater Malison almost ensures a saving throw failure on most enemies.

These are just a few of my personal favorites.

I love Sanctuary. You can run into rooms of full undead and turn or destroy them, and its good for thieving with priest/rogues, especially in Nalias home (the golum room).

I think Sanctuary is a greatly under used spell.

FoD forces a save vs spells at -2 in un-modded game. If you have Sikret's IA, it converts it to save vs death. (no penalty) So it is as hard to resist as Mental Domination in games without IA installed. (it becomes deadlier for mages with IA installed though, as they suck at resisting death magic.)

Though I agree FoD is overrated for priests. They have so many good spells at lvl 7, Symbol of Stun, Fire Storm, Greater Restoration etc. are all better than FoD IMHO.

The insect plague line spells are quite useful for druids, and in outdoor areas, call lightning is surprisingly effective. Summon fire elemental is a classic, and if you have the shapeshifter rebalancing component of one mod (BG Tweaks, I think) call animals is just evil.

Call woodland beings is great for a druid: you summon a caster with several lvl 5 spells, not to mention several others.

Barkskin is also very nice, from what I see it seems to stack with the armor... Imagine what it does for Jaheira :D

My favourite lvl 7 spell for a cleric, however, is gate. Protect the party, cry havoc and let loose the fiends of war, so to say. Plus, I think a fiend is not considered summoned but gated... so most anti-summon spells such as death spell might not work.

Holy smite is still used by me at the end of the game, and for a third level spell there's nothing better. If you have a cleric any combination of Champions Strength, Rightous Magic, Boon of Lathandor, and Holy Power, and Draw Upon Holy Might is powerful. Lastly (for now) Call Lighting is very effective for long outdoors battles.
