I get a bigger allowance now and am able to buy much more books, but I don't mind re-reading books. I used to do it quite frequently. Particularly with Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot novels... hmm, getting the urge.. may have to re-read one soon ;)

I'm currently re-reading my favourite book - Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King - for I think the fifth time now. I've had the book for about three years. I reread books a lot, because it only takes be two or three nights reading to get through a standard 400-page novel. But that's because I can never put them down, and stay awake reading until four in the morning.

I re-read books when I have nothing new around to read. If I really enjoy a book or not like very much at all I tend to skim through it in the first go just to find out what happens. If it was one I liked I would then re-read it both once and twice just to be able to absorb all the "goodness" of the book. Mastodont series like A song of ice and fire, Farseer/Tawny man and A tale of Malazan book of the fallen really demands both one and two re-reads just to get a proper grasp of everything.

    Apeman --

Song of Ice and Fire is indeed the series that I have been considering reading again. It was my favorite and I'm quite sure I missed more subtle plot lines and inrigues. How could one not? :D There was SO much to that story. There are 2 other possibilities as well: The Cormyr Saga and the Avatar Trilogy. But, again, I have about 15 books sitting here that need to be read too! ;) Decisions...decisions.

I re-read books a lot. I was working through A Song Of Ice And Fire recently but I had to put it down, since I was reading it all night and it was affecting my college work because I was so tired :p

I tend to re-read my comics more often than I do my novels, just because it takes so much less time to do so ;)

I especially like re-reading humor or satire, but really, anything goes if I'm bored enough.

I re-read most books as well. I got 42 Star Wars books and I read them all at least seven times. My problem is that I read a 569 page book in about 9 hours :D .
    But I think re-reading books can be a good thing ... don't ask why, I just have a felling(and I'm usualy right).

[IMG] I only re-read because i love to read and sometimes i don't have anything new to read :D
In cases like sagas of books i think it's good to re-read just to refresh what happened before. In other cases it's good to re-read only because we're talking about masterpieces.

EDIT: damn...sometimes i hate my english :aww:
