I suggested that party of 2 drows and a deep gnome because that's what the OP asked for!! DUH! He thinks he lacks rules based knowledge and he wants a good party IN TERMS OF CHARACTER CLASSES AND ABILITIES! You know what that means?? He WANTS a strong party this time around! Did you even read his post?? I know I did!

And no...I wasn't thinking about roleplaying...but you know what?? Where exactly DO you draw the line?? I've heard of people playing Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion who would take off their clothes, take them down to a river or lake and move their clothes around in the water to "wash" them, once every 2-3 days (game time).

WTF?? I enjoy the gameplay in video games and all...but honestly, if you are concerned about ROLEPLAYING in a game which is as relentlessly linear and hack-n-slash based as IWD2...you really need to chill out a bit.

Or go play Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion...I hear you even get to eat FOOD and pretend you actually ate it!

[IMG] I think there's more than one person here who needs to chill out. Everyone's free to play their games as they see fit. If you don't like it, play it differently - it's yours to play as you wish. But just because you can't see yourself role-playing a game like IWD2 doesn't mean that no one else should try it.

    EXACTLY!!!

Just because you roleplay with a fighter, mage, thief, doesn't mean anyone who wishes to roleplay should create the same party. Topics like these were meant for suggestions and the like, not for arguing about one's preferred roleplaying tactics. Everyone has a different take on life, what more with roleplaying games.

Well, needless to say there was something of a delay in starting, so here I am a week later, having just won a 3 hour war of attrition in Dawn of War...

I'll commence the IWD2 game tomorrow!
