Well, I might be wrong

In the book he may mention Orthanc and Cirith Ungol (?) but when you would say The Two Towers in ME, everybody would think about The Tower of the Sun and the Tower of the Moon, those towers belonbged to each other like Sun and Moon do.. and later in ME, these towers (black and white) where always fighting each other while Saruman's became only important in the end of the Era.

 

Since when has LotR ever been a trilogy anyway, reading the books it is either six or one.

 

Luan: Ever since they called the books Fellowship of the Ring part 1 and 2, Two Towers part 1 and 2, Return of the King part 1 and 2. Clearly there's an indication that there are 3 of them there, even though each one of them are separated into two parts.

 

Was there a animated version of "The Two Towers"? I have "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings",and I know there is a "Return of the King"

 

What is the "Cirith Ungol"? I have heard about it, but I dont know/can't remember what it is.

 

Cirith Ungol is a Tower AND a pass at the western border of Mordor, it lays some morth of Minas Morgul. Shelob lives there and made that pass hard to enter

 

Cirith Ungol is the tower near\in Morgul Vale I think. And the two towers are the two that fight each other all the time, IMHO, ie, Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul\Ithil.

 

There have been three books since they were published. The Fellowship in 1953, The Two Towers in 1954, and Return of the King in 1955. True there are 6 "books" but they are more like "parts". You can still buy the three novels seperately, as there were first released.

sorvo, There was a animated version of the Hobbit and The Fellowship made. The Fellowship which was called "The Lord of the Rings" released in 1978 contains parts of both the Fellowship and the Two Towers. It is awful. The Return of the King, animated movie, made in the 1980s, was made by different producers and again wasn't anything to write home about. They were not part of the same project.

The 1978 animated version planned to release a "part II" but after the failure of "part I" the project was canceled.

While censoring the name would be silly, Im not really too bothered; I just want to see some ents trouncing Isengard

 

I want to see the Battle at Helmsdeep... and also of course the destruction of Isegard... and the defeating of Shelob. But the name should just remain The Two Towers

 

Thanks for that info VoltricI actually liked the animated version which made me really like the new movie,but I guess I need to read the books to get the whole picture!
