You got that right Runes, I've been looking around at some a while back. The living spaces were decent with most of them but gee the toilet/bathrooms were smaller than most average office cubicle.

Maybe they thought bathtubs were too decadent for the labourers to wash their strong, untainted, socialist bodies in. :D

I was actually toying with the idea that they thought bathtubs were supposed to be setup against the wall rather than on the floor.

I commuted with my bike on the tram today, and I encountered that old idiot again. He's a regular on the train as I am. He always sits in the same place, and, by preference and for comfort, always with his legs stretched out straight across the bike space. One would think he'd learn. But, no ... Whenever someone puts a bike in the bike space, he silently yet furiously mutters and complains about bikes potentially ending up touching the sole of his feet (indeed, bicycle front wheels swinging when the tram makes a turn might end up doing that). Oh the impertinence!

Today I eventually had enough of his furious looks, quiet muttering and gestures and said to him: 'Get over it, pal!' He got even more agitated, and muttered inaudibly and I told him that it is indeed remarkable that he, since everyday life and public transport are apparently such an imposition on him and his comfort, was able to make it to the tram at all. Chuckles all around, and he got even angrier. Oh the look on his face. What an idiot.

I will definitely have to employ one of these measures. Trying to be nice and civilized just leads to nuclear meltdowns on the phone... ;)

Haha! Rumour is that the bolsheviks thought chamber pots were unusually big soup-tureens, so you could actually be right. Talk about a culture shock... Well, that is what we get for letting the reds carry their revolutions out.

Which reminds me: communists annoy the hell out of me. Especially young ones, who have absolutely no firsthand experiences of living within this totalitarian regime, but will still ramble about how 'just' this form of government is.

When a telemarketer calls, I usually succeed in ending the conversation with: 'You are aware that I blacklisted myself to telemarketers a couple years ago? You must not call me.'

Everyone in Germany who wants to blacklist himself can go here.

In Germany call centres are obliged to check their data against blacklists so they don't call people who don't want to be called. Having worked in a call centre, as a telemarketer, then as a supervisor and eventually as a data manager, I know well that that's a rule that's frequently being ignored. I always try to be civil, since I remember how a string of rude customers at the phone can really drag one down emotionally (odd, but that's how it is). On a silly day I take my time and point out flaws in the sales pitch.

We have the same in Denmark. We also call it "Robinsonliste". :)

Problem is, my phone is registered as a business telephone, so they can call me legally. After all, a freelance translator is a business. Even, apparently, way after business hours. :grr:

Gods, yes. This kind of failthorics reminds me of this guy from 'Allo, Allo'. Dude, we know you are LeClerc. Really. No bloody need to inform everyone of this fact! :D

Aaand! The labourers across the street. Dear sirs, I am not yelling while I am translating a document. Please, try to refrain from shouting THIIIIIS BLOOOODYYYY LOOOOOOUUUUUUD while you are laying bricks. It can be done!

I hate bad drivers. I was coming out of a carpark today and there was a woman indicating to come in. I pulled out so that she could get past me. However, the woman wasn't indicating to turn in, she was indicating to turn left at the bottom of the street....300 yards further on. Then a guy pulled out on me at a roundabout and forced me up onto the curb!

I also hate the habit the English footballs fans have picked up of shouting 'Two world wars and one world cup' whenever the Germans are playing. The world wars were dreadful, a lot of people died and the damn win was 50 years ago (or whatever). It's not a paticularly inspired chant.
This is also the reason I don't get why so many American tourists think that they need to make a point about independance day when they come here. AFAIK, nobody in Britain actually cares and as far as we're concerned 'Independance Day' is just the name of a rather cheesy film about aliens.

I hate the people who assume that, just because I don't go out to work, I am claiming benefits without bothering to find out that I run two buisinesses from home.

I hate women who assume that I'm going to come on to them just because I'm bi and I hate men who think I'm always going to be up for a threesome for the same reason.

I hate people who assume that I'm stupid because I have a big chest/blonde hair/a hearing problem.

I hate that people think that, because I have Clown fish, they are going to be called Nemo.

I hate people who stand really close to talk to you.

    I hate early mornings.

I hate people who stand in doorways or the middle of pavements or supermarket aisles and then wonder why you get annoyed.

I hate people who see something on facebook and then think it's aimed at them. Likewise people who put things on facebook about others and then wonder why the person concerned gets upset.

Can't think of anything else right now but I'm sure I will!

Amen to that, sister! :D Something even more annoying? Women who ask if I find them attractive IMMEDIATELY after finding out I am not straight. A few months ago I decided I am finally done with the 'you are lovely, but not my type' tactful BS. Taking care of some attention w****'s ego is not my damn specialization. :D

    Clucking hens annoy me.

I mean, do they really have to cluck/cackle every time they lay an egg?

People who spend HOURS in the common bathrooms. Well any effing time, sweetheart! The whole damn floor is waiting for you to finish, but do not let that stop you!

Depends on what they mean by unwell. Mentally unwell (i.e., mental retardation, etc) is acceptably defined as a disability. But being sick for a week is not. :p

[IMG] Was in a discussion where disability priority seats were brought up. The person stated that if someone asked them for their seat they would ask if that person was unwell after saying if someone has an invisble disability it doesn't hurt to explain it.

If I had to stop and explain my problems to everybody and anybody I wouldn't have time for anything else!

Was bad enough trying to explain my aspergers to a lecturer the other day when he was going through my work. It's just exhausting enough without feeling the need to have to explain just because I don't look sick doesn't mean I'm not for the umpteenth time in the hope I don't get some unusual form of abuse thrown back more often than not!

On elevators, I hate when people still tries to ride despite seeing how loaded it already is.

On escalators, I hate when people tries to walk past you. Especially those who don't bother to say 'excuse me'. They just crouch like a mouse trying to sneak past you. Geez, use the stairs, moron.

Still with escalators, I hate it when Filipinos who went to Hong-Kong and comes home ranting they don't understand why Filipinos don't keep 2 lanes in the escalators. 1 lane for just standing and 1 lane for walkers. It's their culture!

On the street, I hate the sudden influx of 'underbone' motorcycles. The metro is just littered with so much undisciplined riders. All the noise, the pollution, the headache of watching them zig-zagging around traffic and causing more problems. Worst is they're known to invade the side-walks or block the pedestrian lanes.
