    The first one wasn't half bad (Mr. Lips notwithstanding), but the second one... ugh.

    the first one reputedly had a budget of 35 miliion. i just didnt think it was possible for that few people to waste that much money on drugs cause theysure didnt spend it on the movie props. :) and the poor cleric got royally nerffed!

    You should watch Highlander: Endgame. Pain (not a typo) was even worse in that but he made Highlander IV so much fun to watch.

    Watched The Departed (again).

    @Caradhras

    Endgame was still better than the original Highlander imo. I saw it for the 1st time the other day and Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery were pretty horrible. It makes me wonder how the concept, super cool as it was, made it into a series with that crappy a movie. And Payne was only even remotely cool in Passenger57 lol.

    Endgame better than the original Highlander movie? Mulcahy did a superb work in the first film with flashbacks bringing together the past and the present without feeling contrived.

    I can't remember the name of the director who shot Endgame but starting the film with a flashback was a strange move (the first in a long series of dubious choices in Endgame).

    One thing I can understand is how the special effects have aged but when you bear in mind that the first film was released in 1986 it's far from being that bad. BTW I disagree about the acting. It wasn't bad and if you take acting into account Endgame is really silly (and I'm not even mentionning all the double entendre that hint at a gay subtext).

    The only point where the first sucked was regarding swordfights which were not stellar. But in Endgame the fights are ridiculous at times.

    I guess that I can only be shocked by statements like these because the original Highlander is a cult movie (if only for the soundtrack). It was different and I remember the first time I watched it with fondness (I was 11 at the time).

    Anyway, if you want to see what a crappy Highlander movie is, try and find a copy of Highlander the Source, the last masterpiece in the series. It's crappy but unfortunately it's not as funny as Endgame. ;)

    The Mummy. The movie is just plain fun! The Mummy Returns was a bit...... lacking, sadly. So, original is best.

    I just love that movie. I've watched the original movie and it was quite good but Nicholson is just perfect.

    I've seen it twice in a movie theatre and it was awfully nice to see the reaction of the audience when Costigan gets shot.

    Just watched More for the second time tonight (the 1969 movie directed by Barbet Shroder with music by Pink Floyd). A terrific movie.

    @Caradhras

    Your points for the original movie are valid. However, I still can't say that noone did anything close to good acting.

    Endgame, while silly at times as you've conceded, is easily the best imo. But I was always more of a fan of the series so perhaps I'm a bit biased as to how it turned out. It really was pretty anticlimactic though.

    THE SOURCE????!!!! comments like that may end our friendship :D

    Bar none, the worst movie I've ever had the misfortune of seeing legitimately in a theater.

    On my senior trip I saw National Treasure 2, Men In Black, and Freddy vs. Jason, and out of these my favorite is the only one that I'd seen before, MiB. I just watched Gattaca because my internet connection was feeling spry, and I liked it, but the 1:40 flow by too fast for my liking.

    Hmm...let's see, been watching a little Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci films:

    Malèna
    Under Suspicion
    L'Appartement
    Hart's War
    Breakfast Of Champions
    Lucky Number Slevin

    Breakfast Of Champions was just...weird. Under Suspicion would be more fitting as a play...
