Watched another S. Korean film. The Chaser, probably the first time I've rooted for an ex-corrupt cop turned pimp. What a film... highly recommended. Btw, it's quite violent.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince... I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really there's two groups of people who I can see having complaints with this movie, first is those who have never read the book and may be confused. Second are those who don't realize that this is not the book in movie form, but an adaptation of the story. Sure they added a couple scenes and took out some important ones, but that's ok, the movie is good. Another problem might be for those who only see this as a stand-alone, and not as part of a series. This serves as a prequel of sorts for Deathly Hallows, so naturally there will be loose ends, and still is part of the rising action of the series.

For the record I really, really enjoyed the books, but not so much the movies until this one. I dare say it is my favorite movie for one of my least favorite books in the series.

Yeah, I saw Taken last night, altough I thought the main character was waaaay too good. I would have liked him to have more weaknesses.

Also watched "Sphere" and "Over the Hedge" last night/this morning.

Sphere was great (didn't like the ending though), and Over the Hedge was decent, but predictable and almost identical to every other animated movie to come out in the last 8 years.

Saw the Harry Potter movie. I thought it fell flat and was a bit shallow as compared to the other movies (not comparing to the book, mind you). Too much emphasis on the teen romance aspect and not enough on advancing the main plot of the story. I know that I'm in the minority, as it's done half a billion dollars or so world-wide already, but that's my opinion.

Never judge how many people liked a movie by the money it bring in...

Yeah they definitely tried to squeeze the romance in over any plot, but even that felt a bit rushed. I laughed a lot though, and had a good time, so that's really all that was needed for my endorsement.

the whole season 4 of "how i met your mother".

and "duplicity". not a bad movie, pretty entertaining. one of these quirky, off-beat love stories. i was vaguely reminded of the movie "intolerable cruelty".
