I'll hold off until the budget. I'm not sure that Ignatieff likes the idea of a coalition in the first place, and if the budget is reasonable, I doubt we'll see any attempt to bring the government down.

I'm also not sure about your assessment about the West. Alberta, yes, but the West in general, less so, particularly not B.C. Which isn't to say that a coalition would better for the West than the conservatives, but I don't think you'd hear as much complaining outside of Alberta as inside.

Not much is happening politically right now. Wait until after Obama is inaugurated.

I'm with Splunge on this one. I want to see what Harper comes up with in the Budget before taking any wager. But I think you're right about a backlash if they do go coalition. And I won't restrict it to the west. If enough people in Ontario get pissed off, that could swing the Conservatives into a Majority!

Thank goodness for a budget that Ignatieff can live with. The fact that Layton and that Bloc guy are against it is no big surprise - the Liberals are the voice of reason here. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised to see another election before the year is out, but for now, at least the government can focus on the economy.

Apparently, Harper listened to someone, and Ignateuf listened to common sense. Dion, fresh off getting his ass handed to him in October, came out challenging the Conservatives and thumbing his nose at 36% of the people in the country. Like that would work for the Liberals...

At least Iggy knows that the Liberals are at their lowest point in memory in terms of popularity, and understands that they have to work to rebuild their image from the corruption of Chretian and Martin...

The budget passed, the NDP commies have lost their bid to seize even a little power, and Ignatieff comes off looking like a rose. But at least we don't have to worry about another election any time soon.
