Did anyone here watch Barcelona vs Chelsea at the Nou Camp last night? What an absolutely amazing game of football, it had everything! Stupid red card, great goals, great football and truly dogged defending. An amazing performance by Chelsea. Gary Neville's reaction to Torres's last minute goal on the English commentary was just the funniest thing .

damn I know I should have watched it... :p but alas, sleep won. I've started to sort-of-follow football due to osmosis. 0_o

I didn't realise you had ever lost your faith in soccer in the first place. What has been disillusioning you about the sport recently?

I just spent an afternoon playing soccer with my son, trying to teach him how to come off he line to close down a striker's shooting angle, if he's determined to play in goal this season.

I just got a bit fed up with watching the same old chess-like football matches full of diving around and not much happening. Both teams to scared to commit players forward. I still loved lower league football, but I have been more interested in the NHL than I have top tier football lately. That match though last night (and this one tonight!) was crazy good. Whilst I'm a big sports nut, no other sport could give the same level of skill and range of different skills and emotions in my eyes.

I feel the same way about many sports. I'm not much of a basketball fan but the recent three game ANBL finals series was awesome, action and drama packed. I wish there was a way of knowing which games in which sports were going to be awesome, so I knew which ones to watch.

The exception is cricket - I'm pretty sure I could watch any test match and get something out of it.
