[IMG] Have many people seen the recent documentary "The Corporation"? (recent in australia, dont know about elsewhere) I saw it a while ago and was STUNNED. I'm not gonna spoil it for you but really, WHOA. Its incredible some of the stuff they do. If you are looking for something fun don't see this: not a movie to take your girlfriend to at all, (2 1/2 hours long) but see it. Really. My new favorite.

As an example of their power:
Telstra (the dominant australian telephone and internet provider in Australia) is trying to put up more mobile towers to facilitate easier video messaging, and offered some guy $20k a year rent for his backyard. Mindful of radiation, he told them where to shove it - whereupon Telstra told him that they CAN TAKE THE PROPERTY AGAINST HIS WILL AND NOT PAY RENT. Who did they bribe for that?! (this is not in The Corporation, but is relevant)

Most of the human genome is patented. Stuff like that.

However, governments are fighting back to reclaim "most powerful organization" status - seen the us$280BN lawsuit , US gvernment V Tobacco Corporations under RICO (Racketeer Infuenced and Corrupt Organizations act) in the paper? thats the biggest civil award (if they win) in US history.

    See it.
