In my run it with the guardian of Chult, It was the longest battle I have every fought in the game(so far). The key character that won it for me was my necromancer, because he had the Spirit of Flame feat which increases the power of my fire spells. However, the guardian kept evading my fireball, but I launched other fire spells like Aganozzor's Scorcher and Flame Arrow. Also, i used cold spells like cone of cold, ice dagger, and snowball(or whatever it is called) and a Ice orb spell. My cleric had the Searing Orb in her arsenal; although, he wasn't blinded the damage was good. Also, My Paladin of Helm was equipped with the Wright Sword and Azare Rod. While the Wright Sword was ineffective the Azare Rod gave some magical damage. (oh I used magic missile and the Morkaiden Force Missiles, too). My monk, if he wasn't busy panicking and running in fear, would occasionally get some bludgeoning damage.
