You should tell the guy who sent you that mail, and let your reply go viral ;)

So I had an interesting weekend, and I figured this is a good place to post about it.

As some of you may know, I'm selling my Walther P99 so I can buy a Sig Arms P229 Elite. Anyway, I had a guy drive 2 hours to see the gun, but the banks were closed and I had to go to work, so the deal didn't go down that day. On Saturday, he wanted to know if he could come by late that night instead of the agreed upon time on Sunday. I told him that it would have to be a time when the gun shops are open so we can do the background check and a legal transfer of ownership thingamajig.
That's when things got a little odd. He offered me an extra $50 to *not* do things the “normal” way. When I told him we're doing it the legal way not because I don't trust him, but more to cover *my* butt (should he turn out to be serial killer later on), he backed down from the deal and now I'm down my only real perspective buyer. :bad:

The things we do for the sake of the law....

Well, Kitrax, that was probably a good move, because it tells me it would have ended up on you butt if he had bought it.

You should have sold it without a receipt of any kind and then called the cops and reported that he'd stolen it. With no proof to back it up, he'd have been screwed! You would have got the gun back and there'd be nothing he could do about it, plus you'd have the money!

Ahh, I'm kidding and you all know it. Kudos to you for doing the right thing, Kitrax.
