    Watched the first episode of Fx new series The Americans. Could be a good series if they develop the characters. It appears to be a reverse 24. Let's hear what you think. If you haven't watched it yet give it a shot.:p

    I watched it. The first episode was a bit slow given all the introduction that was going on, but the previews look like it will get more interesting.

    I really liked it based on the pilot episode (haven't watched the second episode yet). Elizabeth and Phillip are suitably complex, interesting, and even realistic-seeming characters. FBI agent Beeman should be an excellent nemesis. Nice to see Richard "John Boy Walton" Thomas back on a real show (I don't remember the last time I saw him in what appeared to be a quality production).

    I just hope the show's producers don't go overboard. It's interesting and not particularly hard to follow, so far seems stated in just the right way, but I fear it could easily become a ridiculous show (in terms of violence, sex, over-the-top behavior, twists and turns, etc).
