I'm an idiot. Just spent about 10 minutes typing a response (which I'll hopefully replicate in a sec) only to lose it when I tried to post it without having logged in!

Anyway, Rugby is NOT dull, it may be a littel harder for some to understnad but it's certainly faster and can be more fun to watch than NFL or even AFL.

As for the Janet stunt, it was pretty obvious as soon as it happened that it had been planned. Consider the lyrics Timberlake 'sang' just prior to removing said piece of clothing - "I'm gonna have you naked by the end of this song"!!
Also, this stunt was probably the only reason that fool boy was there!

That said, it certainly was a good game, it's just a shame that none of our free-to-air channels had any other NFL coverage this season.

 

I realy don't see the the big deal over the whole Janet Jackson thing.So she showed her breast.Big deal.

For such a forward thinking country the US sure is in the dark ages when it comes to sex.My goodness horror of horror's a naked breast was shown on TV.All this comotion is just silly.

Maybe if we taught our kids sex and sexuality wasn't wrong,and the body was a beatiful thing to be celebrated instead of hidden , we could step away from these fifties ideals of what we can do.

I mean realy was anyone from Europe "freaked" out by "the breast incicident".

 

Yes - you can win a World Cup after years of being rubbish. You do it by being the undisputed best team in the world over the past year and beating everybody else. Well done to them. England are far and away the best rugby team in the world at the moment, but I would still maintain that they went through most of the 1990s being below par (by the high standards by which I am sure they would measure themselves).

 

Tonga have been rubbish for years but they wont suddenly win a world cup out of the blue, this does not happen, there are only a few teams who have the ability to win the world cup and England has always been one of them.

You cannot win a world cup after years of being rubbish period.

The reason they are making a big deal about the Janet Jackson's breast is because it was on a national network - not cable. The national networks, which include NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and PBS are held to a higher standard that the rest of the cable networks - probably because they're free. As a result, they promote things like "family values" and a bare breast is against the rules. The rules state that they cannot show obscene material at all, and cannot show indecent material between 6 AM and 10 PM. While Janet's display would not count as obscene, it would count as indecent. Since it aired between the hours of 6 AM and 10 PM in the U.S., it was against the rules. The difference between obscene and indecent basically comes down to obscene being devoid of any literary or artistic quality, so - depending on how you view the performance - either might apply.

 

The funny thing that most people don't know, and another clue to say it was planned, is that both of her "breast covers" could be visibly buttoned and, obvioulsy, unbuttoned...

Funny that the title of this thread is "Superbowl Misery" and there have been more posts about Janet's synthetic bossom than about football!

Just be thankful that she and Justin didn't turn it around and have her rip off his clothes to expose his...pectoral implant. (or other unmentionable areas)

 

Yes I know all that Aldeth but again I say what is the big deal.I think its silly we cant show nudity on regular TV.WE act as if there is something wrong with the naked body.
