It would be churlish to dismiss the newer Apple devices (such as iPhone 4S or iPad 2) from a hardware point of view, from the specs I have read they're very good pieces of kit and has raised the iPhone to the same level as the newer Android devices. But I simply don't like the draconian control Apple insist on keeping over the end user. If they don't approve of software it doesn't go on Appstore, which means you can't have it unless you jailbreak your device. Also, Apple go out of their way to make Apple products only work with Apple products. By contrast Android allows you to install anything giving you a lot more control. Android also have '1 size fits all' hardware extensions, such as the charger port. Liken it to buying a laptop and being told by the manufacturer you can only install software on it they deem fit, and not only that being charged more for the privilege. Well, to me a phone is no different, or shouldn't be at least.

I'm not sure this is the best place to have a Apple [flame war] discussion here. This thread is surely about a tragic loss of life.

And I thought that was why it was moved to Techno-magic.

    Good back-and-forth, Shoshino.

And one for Tal, as well. That was epic.

This is not a flame war. One cannot debate Steve Jobs without talking about Apple. He was Apple. I know he was co-founder of Pixar and surely did other stuff.

Don't just suggest, either do it or continue here. Extending a topic on Jobs to Apple itself is only natural, so it's fine either way.
