I've made up my mind now...
The next generation is the best of them for me(Patric Stewart is just too good) even if i dont like Riker that much. :p

Funny memory... Did you ever watch the cartoon "Gargoyles?" I remeber hearing the voice of the villian and trying to place who the actor was. I couldn't come up with a name at first, but I remember thinking that it was someone who played a sleazeball...

Personally, DS9 is my favorite of the spin-offs. I liked having a stable location to develop an intricate story, in addition to all the sidelines. TNG left me flat, Voyager was good but not a can't-miss, and I've never seen Enterprise. The original stands alone in the realm of Classic TV.

Besides Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis (Deana Troi in TNG) plays in Gargoyles as Demona. Brent Spiner (Data in TNG) gave his voice to Puck. Michael Dorn (Worf in TNG and DS9) played Coldstone and Taurus. Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway in Voy) played Queen Titania and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura in TOS) played Diana Maza.

Other well known people that gave their voice to a Gargoyle character are:
    John Rhys-Davies (MacBeth)
    Tim Curry (Dr. Anton Sevarius)
    Sheena Easton (Banshee)

Besides that there are more people who played a minor part in Star Trek who also gave their voice to a Gargoyle character.

[IMG] Any truth to the rumor there will be a Star Trek: Academy series coming soon? I was told it would be based on Picard's exploits when he was in Starfleet. I hope this is true, should be interesting to see some younger versions of say Riker or Janeway etc.

    #1. TNG
    #2. Voyager
    #3. Original
    #4. Enterprise
    #5. DS9

3 & 4 are really tied in my mind. Enterprise has some good stories, but the sex factor has me a bit turned off the series. They are so obviously pushing for the teen male audience that they have done the show a disservice.

DS9 had some good shows and characters, but overall, it didn't do much for me.

I like DS9 best. It has the most good actors (Avery Brooks and the guy who played Jake do not count). TNG was good too (because of the stories), but had IMHO only two good actors, Stewart and Spiner.
Voyager was really, really bad. Only one good actor (Picardo) and much stupid writing.

I actually like Enterprise. It is getting better, the actors are mostly okay (but not that surgically altered vulcan monster) and the stories are also okay.

TOS has a special status for me. I cannot take it serioulsy for some reason.

How could you take a SF show with all the females on the starship in miniskirts and high leather boots seriously? :D

I'm in the minority of those who genuinely enjoyed Voyager. And I really like Enterprise as well. The only series I never got into was DS9, though mainly because I didn't have cable while it ran, and I'll only watch the re-runs when they broadcast in consecutive order (should be next year).
TNG was good for a while, but it became the "powergamer" of the galaxy.. There was nothing posing a challenge to the ship and crew, and it was all just too much to take; the Enterprise was a ship of demi-gods. It's also the only series that has characters I cannot stand (like Dr. Crusher).

[IMG] You know who was REALLY annoying?
Dr. Polanski on TNG. God, she was like Bones but with PMS

Id die a happy man if Trelane made appearance on Enterprise. Or even Harry Mudd..

GabrielNYC, it's Doctor Pulaski, not Polanski. Polanski is the pedophile director. Pulaski was useless, though, no question about it. The other role I've seen her in was LA Law. She was horrid there too.

:yot: I doubt Harry Mudd was even born at the time Enterprise takes place.
    Back on topic...

    I don't really know...
The Original Series takes place when they have all the kinks worked out of the system, but the universe is still mostly unexplored.

The Next Generation takes place about eighty years later, same story, higher tech.

Deep Space Nine starts five years after Picard was Locutus, and it was considered the worst, since they never went anywhere, excepting the occasional Holodeck or time travel episode.

Voyager takes place another ream of time after DS9, and has the whole 'The Odessey' thing going on there...

But Enterprise goes back about five hundred years, and has low-high tech, and lots of problems to work out.

My father, an avid Trekkie, says that in his opinion, Enterprise is crap, and that it was a bad idea.

I personally like it, except that Joleen (I think that was her name) could try a little harder to make T'Pel emotionless.

As for the next movie, Enterprise is still on the air, so that's not up yet, DS9 didn't have the sizeable fan base of the others, TNG is over, and most of TOS has practically signed restraining orders on Star Trek, so that leaves Voyager. I suppose they could explain why there's a Voyager movie after Voyager returned to earth with the basic "Hey, rememeber that time in the Delta Quadrent when..." storyline.
