    @Carcaroth: Very good points, I totally agree with all of them.

    If a dog took a dump in my yard, I'd prefer if the owners would remove it themselves, and thankfully most people around here are that considerate.

    Also, I don't see how the hell anyone could even think of shooting animals trespassing on their property. It's annoying, sure, but that does not give you the right to kill them (I am sure some people would argue with that, of course)
    If anyone were to kill my dog for trespassing on their property, they better not "trespass" on mine. :cool:

    Thanks for the legal info Morgoroth, I'll have to tell my dad, he's always trying to scare away cats that are digging up the flowerbeds and crapping in the vegetable garden. Another favorite topic of his is the neighbours that let their dogs pee at my parents driveway, looks real nice in winter ("Don't eat that yellow snow" :p ).

    It's all about courtesy:

    1. I clean up after my pet, you clean up after yours.
    2. A leash is a requirement for owners. Even if there is no leash law (some people are terrified of various animals -- terrorizing your neighbor with a friendly dog is just plain cruel).
    3. Dangerous pets should always, REPEAT ALWAYS, be restrained with TWO barriers.
    4. Dangerous pets can be exterminated if unrestrained.
    5. Don't expect me to believe your pet is friendly when it charges my child -- I will cause your pet great harm while protecting my children.
    6. Beating an animal does not teach it anything. Beating an animal just makes a dangerous animal.
    7. Training. Both the pet and owner need training. This is especially true for working dogs.
    8. You, the owner, are entirely responsible for EVERYTHING your pet does. Good or bad, you can either bask in the glory or pay for the damages (and in some cases go to jail).
