Spiders and Scorpions

    The chaos that is my basement is starting to sort itself out. In fact my whole house is sorted little piles of what to keep and what to use and what to discard. Little samples of memories that had already drifted away just to wash up on shore again. Now I have to deal with the bits of broken glass and driftwood.
    Love. He says he loves me and our children. And where does that fit in the missing gear? Does a scorpion love inside it's insect armor while it lashes with its tail? Can you hate a scorpion for its nature? Does it ever have a choice of what it is brought up to be? Can it recognize what it is and change?

    I see no change so far.
    Only in me.
    Thank you scorpion for teaching me how to wear my armor. But I don't thank you for how many stings you gave us to learn.

    Why can't you hate a scorpion for its nature? Aesop's frog sure could! :)

    I just read the fable of the Scorpion and the Frog and I did not get that the frog hated the scorpion only that it was surprised and deceived by its actions. The frog was naive and trusting and the scorpion was what it was.

    I didn't say that the frog necessarily did hate the scorpion, only that it certainly could though it really didn't have much time :)

    But why wouldn't the frog hate the scorpion? It doomed them both after asking for the frog's help. Just because it couldn't help itself makes little difference to the frog.

    Hmmmmm. Possibly every frog has a different way of thinking about things. Although personally I really know very little about amphibious emotions.
