I'd like to know how I can extract the voices from BG2. I'd really like to make characters that are based on the original ones, you see, so I don't have to get them in my game. Ingenious eh? Anywho, yeah. OR if somebody already has extracted the sounds, let me know where I can pick them up.

Check Sorcerer's Place for the sound sets, or you can extract them yourself with Near Infinity.

But the problem here is that the ones I get from Sorceror have important ones missing, and it annoys me because I'm making my characters EXACTLY what they are in the game. So, I'll have to check out the near-infinity thing.

Besides NearInfinity you'll need Infinity Sound Converter available at TeamBG's site (under Tools).

While we're on the subject of soundsets, how would you make one from sayings on, maybe, a DVD movie?

Find any util that can extract sounds in some format. Of course, you'll need also a util to convert that to wav unless you can rip the sound directly into wav.

Can NearInfinity extract the background sounds in the game? like the voices in the market, or the forest ambiance?

Extract from BIF files to wavc format - yes.
Play the wavc format without a converter - no.
