That reminds me a bit of Journey. But the lyrics arent those to the only song of theirs I know.

I could not imagine that it would be so difficult. Their big hit was the song "Julia" and their name was inspired by a Russian physiologist who was experimenting with dogs.

And I thought that this was a softball. The band is Pavlov's Dog and the title of the song is "Song dance". Now I hope that this one is easy:

Walking side by side with death
The devil mocks their every step
The snow drives back the foot that’s slow
The dogs of doom are howling more

Do you remember chalk hearts melting on a playground wall
Do you remember dawn escapes from moon washed college halls
Do you remember the cherry blossom in the market square
Do you remember I thought it was confetti in our hair

    Well, it wasn't that hard.

I pulled into Nazareth, was feeling 'bout half past dead
I just need some place, where I can lay my head
Hey, Mister, can you tell me, where a man might find a bed?
He just grinned, shook my hand, "No" was all he said

    Sweet!

    Being good isn't always easy
No matter how hard I tried
When he started sweet talkin' to me
He'd come and tell me everything is alright
He'd kiss and tell me everything's alright
Can I get away again tonight

    Cool.

There were ships of shapes and sizes,
    Scattered out along the bay
And I thought I heard her calling,
    As the steamer pulled away
The invaders must have seen them
as accross the coast they filed
    standing firm between them
    there lay *****

Edit: Updated the lyrics with the rest of the verse. If that's still no help I'll put in the next which should really give some clues.

Also, it isnt a conventional song, but since we have had a recent spate of show tunes, which arent conventional, I figured why not.

I'm bumping this thread because it's lain dormant for 4 days. Takara, probably time to post lyrics from a different song.

Nobody even asked for a hint yet, So I'll just give one.

This was a song from a radio dramatisation of a very well known sci-fi book.

Oooh, oooh, oooh - great clue Takara. That is the fantastic "Thunderchild" from Jeff Wayne's brilliant musical version of War of the Worlds.
