    Maybe I haven't rescued it after all, since I thought you might be one of the few to guess my lyrics.

    It's a bit early, but this may need a hint. It's an older song (big surprise :rolleyes: ). The band is British and very well-known (but I believe now defunct), but AFAIK the song wasn't released as a single. In fact, although it comes from one of their best albums (IMO), I don't think there were any singles at all off of it (or at least nothing that got high in the charts). The lyrics I've posted are the opening lyrics on the album.
