That sounds like a Lonestar song, can't remember the name. My boss listens to them all the time, and those lyrics sound distinctly familiar to me.

EDIT: OK, maybe a clue is needed. Um, this song was spent about a month at Number One on the American Top 40 but it probably hasn't been played all that much since. The artist will be 34 next month.

OK Clue#4

This artist was a bit like a late 80s version of Britney Spears with hits from 1986-1990 but instead of getting sleazier as she got older she ended up fading into the safety of relative obscurity.

Next lines:

80's britney spears? All I can think of is Tiffany, or Debbie Gibson. As for song, I've no idea.
