Yeah...but as angryguy said, you'd be attacking after casting stuff like hold person, power word: stun, Symbol Stun etc.

THAC0 doesn't make jack all difference at that point.

Mine said that in BG1 soI never tried weapons other than daggers, short swords, and Yoshimo with a Katana. Recently I manged a backstab with a quarterstaff which changed my impression. From what I have seen you can backstab with any thief weapon such as a staff, longsword, club, etc as long as it is not ranged. Weapons that thieves cant typpically use such as two handed swords can not backstab. For blunt weapons I think you are stuck with clubs and staves. The staff of the ram is amazing as stated earlier. My 14th lv Kensai/21st lv thief backstabbed with it and did a whopping 130 damageand that was not the maximum.

Scimitars are good for backstabbing too (especially Twinkle  ). Long swords also work.

I played some with my C/T today. Did the slavers thing; freed Hendak and headed over to the ship. I didn't think getting Lilacor was worth it at the time. I sanctuaried myself, unlocked the ship's door and popped on in. It was great fun...until the spell wore off. Man, gnomes can kick it when they have to! :D I ended up CTRL+Y a lot of the slavers which is a bit of a disappointment. Does Animate Dead get any better at higher levels or am I stuck with a single skelly warrior?

Oh yeah, what armor do y'all use?

With a Cleric/Thief, your best options will be leathers and such. I think there's a really good set of hide in the Adventurers Mart.

As Klorox said, get Aeger's Hide from Ribald's. Upgrade it if you have the Item Upgrade mod. The shadow dragon armor would be the other standard choice.

Cúchulainn is right, at lvl 15 you get skeleton warriors, but only one per casting. They come in very handy.
