Some ToB items are available. And yeah bags of holding are one of them. I think the string references are fucked though. Last time I checked, they still pointed to ToB dlg.tlk entries. Not that it matters in any way.

If string references mean the description when you open them, then yea, I see "Invalid <number>" for both the ammo belt and bag of holding. But they appear to be fully functional.

Yep, it doesn't really affect anything.

If you do have the tweak pack installed, I'm pretty sure the bag of holding is only available in Baldur's Gate. Don't quite remember where the ammo belt is, though. I tend to just give myself the various bags, cases, and what not through SK.

The correct bag of holding (that doesnt contain items when you console it in) is BAG31. theres no getting around the string error displayed as the container name when its opened but works as intended in all other respects.
You can get the potion bag at thalantyr's shop in high hedge, the scroll case off firebead in beregost once you bring him a copy of the faithful coin, and a gem bag from neera once you recruit her into your party.
There's not an ammo bag available (though i assume you could console that in as well.)

Yep, I just consoled both in. I'm all for preserving the faithful experience of the original BG, but at this point I value my time a bit more so I'd really rather avoid wasting it with round trips just to sell stuff off because I don't have enough inventory space for it.

Of course, the fact that I'm at 200k gold that I don't know what to do with anyway and that I really don't need to bother hauling any loot back just to sell it is clear to me on the rational level, but the primaeval hoarder in me just won't allow me to dump it on the ground. :shake: None of the magical stuff, anyway. I'm past dragging mundane items to the shops, at least...

I know what you mean.. i usually go on solo runs, and even though i don't need to carry much, i always cheat in a bag of holding as well. i know i'll end up with more gold then things to spend it on, and that i won't get to keep any of the loot for bg2, but i still *need* to collect everything. :p

Well, there is. The string are there, inside dialog.tlk, they just didn't bother fixing the numbers on the items because they're not included in the game.

It takes about a minute to fix with any editor if you're bothered by it (like I was).

Well sure - i meant more of a way to get rid of it in-game without editing game files, i should have specified. :p
Still, i was never all that bothered by it, for the better part of the game i even stopped noticing it completely.

So I'm nearing the end of BG:EE now and oddly enough, I see that they've left the XP cap of 161k untouched for some reason.

While the bugfest has been tamed considerably with the latest patch, I just wrapped up Rasaad's quest and unbelievably, that's still broken. I tried about 5 reloads of the final battle with Gamaz and in none of them did he pop up the pre-death dialogue that would actually finish the quest. I found several reports detailing this bug on the BG:EE forums. At least I also found a half-assed fix that force-talking to Rasaad manually at least ticks the quest as completed, but leaving a major part of newly introduced content bugged like this just boggles the mind.

That's one of the things I've never done before. Rasaad's alignment just doesn't mesh very well with my playstyle.

Also, why would the XP cap be odd?

Since they've added some new content, I expected at least a slight cap increase. Plus, if they've gone and tweaked so much of the game already, why bother leaving the cap in at all?

Yeah, the no death dialog from gamaz problem has been around for ages now - i've had it on all my playthroughs of the EE so far. i've been able to get the dialog maybe once or twice through continuous reloads, though when it did work i have no idea what caused it to do so..

As far as the exp cap goes, even though there's really not that much extra exp to be gained through the companion content, i guess they didn't want players to be able to get too overpowered. that said, there is a cap remover available on the beamdog forums for the enhanced edition, and i guess that with the dragonspear expansion the cap will be raised at least a little bit.

It's optional content and really short. It seems pointless to raise the cap, which was strategically placed at that point to curb the exponential power growth of characters, just for that.

The quest log seems only slightly less buggy than in the original game -- I've still experienced a few finished quests not getting properly marked as completed. Anyone else seeing this too?

Not making the sliders work with the scroll wheel is a crime against humanity too, not to mention the inconsistency with half the journal having the newest entries on top and the other half at the bottom. That's just... wtf.

Yeah, quests not registering as completed is a notorious problem, most notably the ones where you can finish the quest, but still receive an update on it afterwards.
One example would be melicamp the chicken - it's possible to find him, bring him to thalantyr and save him, making the quest register as completed, then return to the area where you found him initially - and talk to a wandering npc called kessiq that comments on having seen melicamp (probably to point you in the direction of the quest if you havn't started it) which will put a journal entry back under active quests that simply will not go away since you already finished the quest.

Quests that have more then 1 quest giver fall in this category as well - one obvious example being minsc/edwin and dynaheir. if you accept the quest from minsc and save dynaheir then return later and accept edwin's offer to help him track her down and kill her, the 2nd entry will be stuck forever in your journal.
another example of this is angel the cat in central baldur's gate - you can accept both petrine and bheren's quest to either steal the ring to lure angel, or to simply kill angel, at the same time.
if you then steal the ring and give it to petrine, the cat dissapears, but bheren's part of the quest will still be listed as active.

Worse, even some of the entries added by the EE content suffer from this problem - i've had multiple instances where i was never able to get dorn il-khan's quest entries to register as completed.

Yea, I've seen the same with Dorn and lastly with a few minor BG city quests and the Seven Suns quest. Getting to the Cloud Peaks area for Rasaad is bugged as well -- first of all, you need to go south on the Nashkel mines map to get there and not from any of the maps actually close to the area (wtf?) and second, I had to keep trying for like 3 minutes because the map travel trigger just wouldn't register for some reason. My whole party was walking right along the bottom of the map, clicking on the area transition icon and nothing happened for ages. If I hadn't read somewhere that I actually needed to go south on that map to get to Cloud Peaks, I'd never have managed it.
