Weakest winter in a long time here. Well last couple years were absolutely brutal so that may skew my memory, but very light snow. And rare.

This winter we have gotten decent snow. I don't mind the clear and really cold (negative F degree wind chills) weather provided I'm not planning to be outside for a long time.

A bonus is that when it gets really cold the air becomes clear and you can see neat things at night-often sky related.

Forgot the name for it but one clear and cold night when the moon was very high up (directly overhead?) there was a huge ring/circle in the sky made from light that I think was reflecting off it. It was so large and distant from where the moon appeared in the sky that you may not relate the 2 except that if the ring was a huge 2D circle the moon would be at its center.

Also when it is cold enough the lake mists/steams and it was neat too see a nearly full moon in the sky with a few clouds and its reflection off of the lake shining through the mist/steam from it.

That was a sight  I think they could have used in a movie or picture or something like it.

Only a few inches of snow outside.

This winter (actually, several years back) snow seems to come in bouts - it falls like it will never stop, stays for a few days, melts and returns in a month or more.

Most snow was about a month, or more ago - some 50 cm around my faculty. Kept wading through it like a madwoman. :D

BFD....snow in the SE US is just good business for the auto industry, collision repair shops, and junk yards!

There's still over a foot of snow on our front lawn from a storm that rolled through over 3 weeks ago. It just never melted. :bad: The past couple of storms dropped a modest amount of snow, but most of it (on top of the old snow) blew away in the fierce winds we had about a week ago.

We're getting more snow today and tomorrow. Eastern Utah is already over 150% of its yearly snowpack...and St. George (one of the hottest populated parts of the state) is currently over 180% for the year...and winter still has another good month left to go. :bad:

This is pure snow! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?

Actually, this here really was beautiful snow. I just shovelled the driveway (and enjoyed it!) and this snow was perfect powder! We could ship it to Vancouver if they run low (yeah, right)!

Hey! I've been without snow for 16 years! I think I deserve a little masochistic glee. It's been too long since I last saw large chunks of snow flying through the air.

Enjoy! I wish we could say the same, but at least the snow we have is lasting.
